Filipinos Should Not Leave The Country

One US dollar is equivalent to 42 Philippine pesos as of this writing. It implies that it only takes to have at least 24,000 US dollar to become a millionaire in the Philippines. That is very enticing, isn’t it? Assuming you have a stable job waiting abroad (not only the US) it is really temping to leave the country. We can’t deny that most Filipinos working abroad have improved their living status. They have big houses, luxurious cars, and other material things. They can afford expensive vacation trips. They can provide expensive education for their children. Behind their lavish living however they have experienced lots of hardships and sacrifices that people in the community are not aware of. With that, I could say they also deserve to enjoy what they’ve acquired abroad. Despite greener pastures abroad, there are still valid reasons Filipinos should stay in the country.

10 Least Viewed Blogs

Like in every store with slow moving items, I would presume that every blogger also has at least one slow income-generating post. It wasn’t that bad as I see it. Sometimes, what writers like to talk about is not what other people want to hear. Despite of that I still continue to write about things that inspire me to write, may it be readers magnet or not. So ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present to you my top ten least viewed blogs.

Tax, Why are You Such a Burden?

It is December. It means not only Christmas celebrations, parties and vacations but also big tax deductions.

Since it is the last month of the year, it is expected that everyone especially those who are employed would receive their bonuses and extra compensations. It sounds like a lot of money, right? That was my impression before. Every time I heard my teachers complaining about their payrolls every December. I thought they were only being greedy. Now, it turns out I am the ones blubbering about what I saw on my pay slip. The world really is round!

I Joined Toastmasters and I Got What I Needed

If you think you’re not good, then you need toastmasters. If you think you’re good enough, then the toastmasters club needs you. This is a favorite quote of area 83, which I heard from a friend club Cancabato Bay toastmasters. I like it because it applies to me both the first sentence and the second sentence.
A few years ago, I joined toastmasters because I knew I wasn’t good enough as a communicator. I used to stutter in front of a crowd. After being on stage I used to feel like I should have done better, then I would feel disappointed about myself. During my first speech in the toastmasters meeting, I really couldn’t construct my thoughts on stage clear. I was almost talking nonsense.

I Won But Not Again!

Before the speech evaluation contest last October 1 in Cebu, a lot of things ran in my mind. They were all perfect anticipated alibi materials if I wouldn’t win in the contest.

Few nights before the event, I took home a gray colored pen I found during a farewell party I attended. I really couldn’t help the temptation to pick it up though it was just an ordinary pen. I only did it out of stupidity. Then I thought if ever I won’t win, it would be because of karma. So karma came, I didn’t win.
I also thought what I would wear during the contest would matter. I considered that I should wear the same long sleeve and the same pair of jeans during the area 83 contest, where I won.  Instead, I decided to wear my maroon short sleeve polo and a black pair of slacks. That would be a jinx combination of colors if I wouldn’t win. And yes, maybe maroon and black really shouldn’t be paired.
